Should IT be involved in all software decisions?

How about marketing decisions?

On Monday, the sales guy who sits next to me and I got to publish a point/counterpoint on IT and marketing software decisions.

This one says not to involve IT with marketing software decisions.

My response says not to be an idiot, but to bring IT in with enough time to make a successful project.
